Helm Marine Tech, doing business as "helm" ("Helm," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit helmmarinetech.com (the "Site") or inquire about our services, how we use that information, and the choices you have.

Helm Marine Tech is a sole proprietorship based in Stamford, Connecticut, providing Starlink Maritime installation and related marine technology services, primarily in Connecticut and New York.

Information we collect.

Information you provide directly.

When you submit an inquiry through our Site, we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:

  • Email address.
  • Phone number.
  • Boat year, type, and length.
  • The marina where your boat is docked.
  • Your preferred installation timeline.
  • Whether you already own a Starlink Maritime kitor want us to source one.
  • Any other informationyou choose to include in a message to us.

Payment information.

If you become a client and pay for our services, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect, store, or process your full payment card details. Stripe handles all payment data directly under its own privacy and security practices. We may receive limited confirmation details from Stripe, such as your name, the last four digits of your card, the amount paid, and the transaction date.

Information collected automatically.

When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect certain information about your device and browsing activity, including:

  • IP address(typically anonymized by our analytics tools).
  • Browser type and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URL.
  • Approximate geographic location(derived from IP address).

How long we keep your information.

As a general matter, we retain client contact and project information indefinitely unless you ask us to delete it, because past clients often return for follow-up work, additional installations, or support years after an initial job.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time using the process in Section 8.

How we protect your information.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, including limiting access to authorized personnel and using service providers that maintain appropriate security practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Residents of Connecticut.

If we deny your request, you have the right to appeal by replying to our response. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the Connecticut Attorney General's office.

Children's privacy.

Our Site and services are not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@helmmarinetech.com and we will delete it.

Do Not Track.

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry standard for how to respond to these signals, and our Site does not currently respond to them.

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective Date" at the top. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting a notice on the Site.
