Every installation, done right.

Every Helm installation includes the full scope of work below, scaled to your vessel's size and complexity.

01

Site survey and boat audit

We assess your vessel's electrical systems, mounting locations, and existing network setup before we touch anything. Every installation starts with a plan.

02

Optimal hardware mounting

Your Starlink dish is mounted in the best position for signal strength and aesthetics, whether that's a hardtop, flybridge, arch, or radar pole. Marine-grade waterproofing and vibration damping included.

03

Clean cable routing

Every cable run is routed cleanly through bulkheads and hidden from view. Color-matched ties, professional-grade fastening, and zero visible wires on deck.

04

Full network integration and device setup

Starlink connects to your boat's existing systems so every device on board has access. We optimize your onboard network, configure mesh Wi-Fi, and set up the Starlink app on your phone.

05

End-to-end system testing

Full speed, coverage, and reliability testing across the vessel. We verify every connection point and make sure the system performs exactly as it should.

06

Owner walkthrough and handoff

We walk you through everything: how to manage the system, what to expect underway, and how to reach us if you ever need anything. The job isn't done until you're comfortable.

What our clients say.

I had two other companies tell me the cabling couldn't be hidden on this boat. Helm made it look like it came from the factory. Zero issues offshore and the booking process was easier than I expected.

Every time I've had work done on this boat it ends up looking tacked on. Not this time. Everything is integrated properly and I genuinely can't tell it wasn't original equipment.

Mark T.  ·  Westport, CT
2021 Viking 44
Showed up on time, knew exactly what they were doing, and walked me through everything before they left. Connectivity has been solid every time we've taken her out. Really happy I went with Helm.

James R.  ·  Stamford, CT
2019 Sea Ray Sundancer 320
This boat is well cared for and the aesthetics matter to me. I was particular about how the install needed to look and Helm took that seriously. The mount is precise, nothing is visible, and the signal is strong throughout.

2022 Hinckley Picnic Boat
We fish offshore regularly and I needed something that could hold up out there, not just a consumer kit slapped on. The Performance install has been rock solid since day one. These guys clearly know boats.

2020 Hatteras GT45
Honestly the smoothest experience I've had with any kind of boat work. Filled out the form, got a confirmation that day, and the tech showed up ready to go. The whole family has had great signal all season.

Tom W.  ·  Norwalk, CT
2023 Boston Whaler 350 Realm
I was a little worried about how a clean install would work on a boat this age but they figured it out. No visible wires, no awkward brackets, just a clean setup that works exactly as it should. Really impressed.

Chris L.  ·  Darien, CT
2018 Bertram 39
We spend a lot of time aboard and staying connected matters. Helm sourced the hardware, handled all the routing, and integrated everything with our existing network. Professional from start to finish.

Common questions

No. You can purchase the kit on your own, or we can source it for you and include it as part of the installation. Either way, we handle the full setup.
Most installations are completed in a single visit. Boats in the 30–42 ft range typically take 2.5 to 4 hours. Larger or more complex vessels in the 61–80+ ft range may take 6 to 10 hours, sometimes split over two days to maintain our quality standard.
Our installations are performed to the highest industry standards using marine-grade hardware and methods. We do not modify core structural or mechanical systems. If you have specific warranty concerns, we are happy to review them with you during the audit.
We provide ongoing support for every installation we complete. Whether it is a quick question, a firmware update, or a system check, we are here.
Starlink offers several plans suited to marine use, including Roam and Maritime. The right choice depends on how far offshore you go and how frequently you use the boat. We'll help you choose the right plan during the booking process.
Yes. Starlink charges a separate monthly subscription fee directly through SpaceX, which is not included in our installation price. Our fee covers the professional installation only. We'll make sure you're fully set up and activated before we leave.
